Project
Blind Veterans UKDetails
The practice has recently completed a scheme to provide Blind Veterans UK with four flats and a house to be used in conjunction with their main building at Plas Medoc, Llandudno. The charity provides help to blind ex services personnel through respite care, support and training; the new accommodation withing three Grade II Listed Buildings will offer semi independent living for younger members and their families.
A new glass foyer acts as a common entrance point for the accommodation and also provides a common room for the residents. The buildings have been carefully repaired and converted to ensure as many features linked to the original purposes (Groundsmans Cottage, Laundry and Stables) survive. The former laundry building incorporates a bat loft to allow the resident colony of lesser horse shoe bats to share the completed project.
