LJMU Cherie Booth BuildingDetails
This new £1.8 million building, named after LJMU’s Emeritus Chancellor Cherie Booth QC. New facilities include a state of the art lecture theatre, modern IT facilities, conference rooms and two boardrooms.
The tutorial building is one of a series of interventions on the JMU Byrom Street campus designed to improve the facilities and environment. The original 1960’s building forms a massive backdrop to the new building which whilst being significantly smaller, begins to address Byrom Street and to signal the entrance to the campus. The building’s accommodation faces away from the noise of street into a new space created with the existing building, in part sheltering the original façade.
