The Marina Dalglish Centre at University Hospital Aintree is a refurbishment project of an existing building on their Fazakerley site. The £1.8 million scheme involved the refurbishment and remodeling of the 5th floor hospital ward to create a state-of-the-art oncology centre. The project brief required the spaces to be welcoming and warm, calm and quiet.

The developed design is conceived as a top class health spa with careful lighting and luxurious natural materials including cherry veneer to walls and splays and beauty salon style seating, to make the whole seem as little like a hospital ward as possible.

The specialist cancer facility is the first in Liverpool and has the capability to host 10 chemotherapy sessions a week. It includes 16 deluxe treatment bays, with one two bed bay area.
